Oy Vey! I was once considered an honouray Jew, when I worked at a Jewish restaurant in Toronto.
My Jewish friends would be amazed at the Yiddish, and even more, my extensive knowledge of Klezmer music (R-O-M-A-N-I-A!!!).
Sorry to hear about the Everybody Love Raymond pickle yer in. I always hated that show.
Cheers kids!

Karen, I am so impressed. Ross managed to get through is half of AmeriCanadian differences and you didn't once say "blah, blah, blah, yeah, whatever dude".
Are you feeling okay?

The new series this fall on FOX: "Everybody Loves Zee & Zed"
I agree there should be a law.

My parents keep threatening to move up here from New Jersey; of course, I don't think they'd last one New England winter before they fled south again, but I'm not willing to call them on their bluff...
And I think your vocabulary should at least put you on the honors track if you decided to convert, Karen. Maureen went through it (and I went with her for everything but the tests and such), and it took a year, plus going in the mikvah (aka creepy pool) at the end. But that's still better than being male and converting. (Shudder.)
Great show as always!

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for commiserating in my in-law misery. It must be some kind of karma pay back for me, haha. Ross is in complete denial with his head in the sand.
I always hated Everybody Loves Raymond as well. Funnily enough, it's one of the IL's favourite shows, true story.
Dawn: I'm not feeling so hot actually. I think I may be having a mental breakdown.

I feel your pain, guys. My parents keep telling me to buy their next-door neighbor's house. "You should-- it's in a great neighborhood, she's kept it up nicely, and she would be willing to cut you a really good deal."
This means, of course, that I'd be mowing my parents' lawn every weekend, and my mom would be coming over with a "Cooking for Dummies" book for Lisa. :-)
My ex is Jewish, and while neither of us converted to each others' faith (a Catholic technically *can't* convert) I was always referred to as "The Shaygetz" around my in-laws' house. I think it was a term of endearment: I don't want to make a whole tzsimmes out of this.
I will say that I learned how to eat really well and I can now make some kick-butt matzo ball soup, brisket, and yes, kugel.
Another great show!

They clinched the "CONFERENCE", not the division. The division titles are determined by the regular season record. The Northwest division was clinched by the Calgary Flames. Followed by Colorado, Edmonton, Vancouver, and in last place (and missing the playoffs), the Minnesota Wild. Do you even watch hockey or do you just scan the headlines in the paper and make the rest up?
Sheesh!

Conference/Division, who cares outside of Canada and in Minnesota? I was tired. I'm familiar with the conferences. If it wasn't for the conferences Minnesota would have been in the playoffs.

"If it wasn't for the conferences Minnesota would have been in the playoffs."
By this you mean "If the eastern conference didn't exist there would have been enough room for Minnesota in the playoffs"?
Do I have to dig out the email you sent me where you predicted that the Oilers wouldn't even make the playoffs? Crow is a very bitter dish. Trust Me.

I said they wouldn't make it past round one of the playoffs. That was before Roloson came into the picture. Obviously he lifted them to the Finals.
I mean by MN being in the playoffs if not for the conferences: If they didn't have to consistenly play 3 teams that made the playoffs. If they could play Pittsburgh, Washington, Florida, Columbus, Phoenix, LA, Chicago...need I go on about how the Northwest Conference is one of the strongest in the league, the East is completely weak, and someone had to suffer the point loss thanks to "the new NHL"? Look at what happened to Vancouver too..They should have been in the playoffs over the "Mighty Ducks".

Boys, Boys, quit your bickering, you're both pretty.

Karen,
Stay out of this.
Ross,
You have redeemed yourself. You are correct. Your initial comment was not clearly stated and I took the opportunity to jump on you. The balance of skill in the divisions was crazy. Take detroit for example. They played 24 games against the very weak St. Louis, Chicago and Columbus teams. They win the president's trophy and everyone thinks they are a great team. What happens?? First round upset by the 8th place team. Snicker.
MN did beat up on the Oilers this year. Unfortunately, everyone else in the division beat up on them.
Roloson is a great goalie, but you may be giving him a little too much credit for the team's playoff run. You can't win the cup unless you have forwards that can put the biscuit in the basket.
P.S. Do you have an old North Stars sweater?
By Anonymous, at 3:28 PM
True, I might be giving Roloson all of the credit when some is due elsewhere as well but what the hell...he's a fave of mine. He saved my fantasy team two years ago, had the save of the game in the all-star game that year, and is a general all-around nice guy from what I know of him. Plus he's way better than Fernandez and the Wild will be kicking themselves next year for giving him up and that pisses me off.
I have a North Stars t-shirt that I got at the HHOF in Toronto but the thing is quite tattered. Also have a Nordiques t-shirt that I happened to wear today. Another instance of a team filled with irony.
All this hockey talk...I forgot: Dave, thanks for the sympathy. If the drop-in becomes habit we may be in Toronto sooner than later if you catch my drift.
Redboy, I like the way you think. Perhaps I should break out the video camera and start filming the pilot.
Joe, would love to try your matzoh ball soup one day. We've got a lot of dining to do in Chicago, thanks to you and Lisa...we look forward to it.
Okay, after thinking it over Brad, I'll also "give props" to Pronger. Funny thing there though, he's not really a forward...

What about Fernando Pisani and Shawn Horcoff?

They're alright. Same goes for Laraque.

Karen, you nearly made apple juice come out my nose.
If I was in the US could I sue?
I feel like somebody needs to kick somebody in the shin.
One of these days a real rumble is going to break out.
By Dawn Z(ed), at 10:53 AM
Let's get rrrrready to RRRRUMBLLLLE!!!!!!
Maybe we could get Jawbone Len to record it his voice distorter.
By Anonymous, at 10:33 AM
Dawn, it would be a frivolous lawsuit and be thrown out.
No rumble, Brad and I are mates.
Aren't we?

WOW..all this hockey talk...sniff ...sniff..makes me long for the old country...when the Leafs weren't a joke and the Habs were!
By Andy Bilodeau, at 8:01 AM
Andy...How old are you???
Although the hockey messages that Ross and I wrote appear a little agressive, it was all in good fun. This is not uncommon when two handsome, masculine men discuss the differences between their favorite sporting teams. Just be glad we're not sitting in the same room.

damn it. I was hoping somebody was going to kick somebody else in the shins.

Still, it is not uncommon when two handsome, masculine men discuss the differences between their favorite sporting teams one might kick the other in the shins...regardless of whether or not they are sitting in the same room.
